Dental implants are metal screw-like posts (usually titanium) that act as artificial roots for realistic false teeth (crowns). Dental implants are surgically placed in the gums where they fuse with your jaw bone in a process called osseointegration. An abutment is placed on top of the dental implant to connect the implant to a custom-made crown that matches your natural teeth.

Yes. There are three different types of dental implants.

  1. Same Day Dental Implant

A same day dental implant is when an implant is surgically placed inside your gum during one visit to our office. We are able to do this because our office includes dentists, oral surgeons and tech experts who can run X-rays and/or CT scans on the spot. We are literally a one-stop shop. After the implant is placed, we will provide you with a temporary tooth for a few months until the dental implant fuses with your jaw bone. After that healing is complete, we will put an abutment on the implant, and a crown on the abutment.

  2. All-on-4 Dental Implants

While a dental implant is the best option for replacing a single missing tooth, an All-on-4 implant procedure is best if you are replacing all of your top and/or bottom teeth. It’s called All-on-4 because full-arch fixed bridges are attached to the jaw bone with only four implants. An All-on-4 dental implant is much easier and cheaper than replacing each tooth with a single dental implant (entire mouth restoration).

  3. Implant-Supported Dentures

An inexpensive, but effective replacement for all of your top and/or bottom teeth are implant-supported dentures. These type of dentures snap on to implants, which hold the dentures tight and firm. These are much better than traditional dentures that require adhesives, but still manage to slip and slide when talking and/or eating.

We normally use a local anesthesia (injection) to numb the area where the dental implant placement is being performed. For patients who are worried about pain during surgery, an oral sedative or nitrous oxide may be options. During long and complex procedures, general anesthetic may be used. Our goal is to make sure you do not feel any discomfort during the procedure.

We tailor each dental implant procedure to specifically meet the needs of each patient so there is no one-price-fits-all. After thoroughly examining your teeth, gums and jaw, we will be able to create your individualized treatment plan with the full price. We have dentists, doctors and technicians all under one roof, so we do not have to refer patients to other offices for various procedures.

If you take proper care of your dental implants and clean them regularly, like you would your teeth, they should last a lifetime. We will show you exactly how to care for your implants so that your new smile can last.
